The text below proposes some elements on this subject, on the one hand starting from bibliographical elements, on the other hand starting from a first study on the breeding of draught horses in the farms of Auvergne and finally starting from tracks which remain to be developed.Le cheval, et en particulier son élevage, ont sans doute un rôle majeur à jouer dans le développement économique des exploitations agricoles tout en satisfaisant aux exigences environnementales et sociales qui leur sont imposées. Le texte ci-dessous propose quelques éléments sur ce sujet, d'une part à partir d'éléments bibliographiques, d'autre part à partir d'une première étude sur l'élevage de chevaux de trait dans les exploitations agricoles d'Auvergne et enfin à partir de pistes qui restent à développer
