International audienceBackground: The sterol regulatory element-binding protein (SREBP) 1c contributes to the transcriptional coordination of cholesterol, fatty acid, and carbohydrate metabolisms. Alterations in these processes accelerate the progression of hepatic steatosis and insulin resistance during aging and obesity.
