Opioid dependence is a major public health problem with increasing prevalence and incidence. Its pharmacological management is based on opioid substitution treatment (OST) (buprenorphine (HDB) and methadone (MTD)), marketed since 1995-1996 in France. Their clinical efficacy has been widely demonstrated by reducing heroin use, overdose mortality and improving patients' quality of life. Nevertheless, at the same time, problems related to the misuse of OST have emerged, which may lead to negative consequences for patients.
