The Oklahoma turnpike authority Tuesday unvelled its comcession plan for the Will Rogers turnpike between Joplin and Tulsa that features a large central dining and service station area straddling the toll road at Vinita. The consession contracted on the turnpike will be let September 20. The plan calls for three areas - the central Vinita location and smaller sites for east bound traffic at Claremore and west bound at Miami. The letting will be on the same basis as consessions were handled on the Turner turnpike, with concessionaires constructing the facilities to meet minimum standards as prescribed by consulting engineers, DeLeuw, Cather Co...H. E. Bailey, southwest manager for the engineering firm, Tuesday released an artist's perspectives of the revolutionary Vinita plant.........Both the Miami and Claremore operations will be approximately the same size as the Bristow concession on the Turner turnpike. Plans call for buildings of 5,100 square feet housing a 200-stool lunch bar, gift shop and service station facilities.
