Abstract

Photograph used for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "This is the Mosser family laid out on the ground near the mine shaft after the bodies were removed from their murky tomb. Cook, in jail at San Diego, confessed he took the Mossers on a wild 3,000-mile terror ride which included a trip to Carlsbad caverns. He said he bound the father and mother and Ronnie and shot all five to death one by one after a police car came near at Joplin and Mrs. Mosser became hysterical. This grim climax to the fantastic days of roaming over the southwest wound up with the bodies being dumped in the shaft
