Glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness worldwide. Currently, glaucoma treatments aim to lower intraocular pressure by decreasing aqueous humor production or increasing aqueous humor outflow through pharmacological approaches or trabeculectomy. The lack of an effective cure requires new therapeutic strategies.
