Ce travail analyse l'utilité et l'efficacité des réseaux sociaux pour la promotion de comportements favorables à la santé (une activité physique régulière, par exemple) en la comparant à des interventions dites « standards ». Différentes bases de données ont été parcourues selon une stratégie de recherche pré-spécifiée. Après un processus systématique de sélection, vingt essais randomisés et contrôlés ont été inclus. Deux méta- analyses réalisées démontrent des effets modestes mais statistiquement significatifs en faveur des interventions recourant aux réseaux sociaux pour promouvoir l'activité physique et la gestion du poids corporel.
