This thesis will go through an intensive research on GIS and its use in various electric fields. Moreover, various utilities will be studied across geographical regions so as to capture a good background on what is already exist. The thesis will take an electric utility and study its operations before it took up GIS and after it did, thereafter, evaluate the efficiency recorded in both circumstances. Efficiency will be in terms of productivity, network monitoring and customer service. The trend obtained, either increase or decrease, will enable us give the deduction of importance of GIS.
