This study focused on the intergenerational transmission of attitudes toward help seeking. Parental attitudes, attachment to parents, gender, and community size were examined to determine their influence on college students\u27 attitudes toward help seeking. Data were collected via an on-line survey from 195 parent-child pairs (104 mother-daughter, 30 mother-son, 44 father-daughter, and 17 father-son). Parents\u27 ages ranged between 38 and 76 years old and students\u27 ages ranged from 18 to 38 years. Hierarchal regression analyses revealed that parental attitudes toward help seeking significantly influenced students\u27 attitudes.
