„The European Union (EU) is the only area in the world where citizens are protected by a full set of passenger rights, whether they travel by air, rail, bus and coach or ship.” In processing this topic, my aim is to present - in addition to presenting fundamentally the events constituting the rights under the Regulation as well as the rights of passengers affected by such events, in order to place particular emphasis on the extraordinary circumstances set out in recitals 14 and 15 of the Regulation in which air carriers are exempted from their obligation to pay compensation.
