Letter to the Editor: We write in response to the recent article by van Velzen et al. (2016), likely for the same reason that inspired the authors: the widely held view that the brain plays a key role in complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), a view that has triggered the development of novel treatment strategies (Moseley and Flor, 2012). This is a complex area – we are yet to elucidate the central nervous system mechanisms that might play a role in this disorder and the van Velzen et al. paper makes an important contribution
