Equality is an important part of our democracy. As a social science teacher, you have a greater responsibility to educate tomorrow's citizens in democracy. In order to fulfill our mission, we can take the help of teaching materials in social science. It is important that these textbooks are up-to-date and convey knowledge in equality and do so in a way where students can identify with what is written. The purpose of the study is to investigate how gender equality, gender and heteronormativity are presented in textbooks in social studies for the high school.
