In vitro electrophysiological studies in genetically modified mice with a deletion of the GluR-A subunit in parvalbumin-positive GABAergic interneurons (PV-GluR-A KO mice) provided evidence for the involvement of this cell-population in the generation of hippocampal network synchrony.
