Recent studies have shown that certain living cells are sensitive to low levels of contaminants from polymer containers. These bioprocessing containers (BPC) are fundamental in the growth of cellular materials using single-use type bioprocessing. Many vaccines and antibiotics are created using BPCs.1 Irgafos 168 is a stabilizing agent that is used in many BPCs. It is used because it is highly resistant to hydrolysis and it protects the polymer.2 This study will look at the impact of irgafos 168 and determine the toxicity of the contaminant and how much irgafos 168 differents components of the BPC (tubing, bags, connections) will leach. Multiple bioreactor runs will be used to measure the amount of contaminants leached from the BPCs
