PEMBUATAN BRIKET ARANG DARI BAMBU PETUNG (Dendrocalamus asper) DAN BAMBU APUS (Gigantochloa apus) SEBAGAI PENYEDIA ENERGI ALTERNATIF

Bamboo is a versatile plant, one of the functions is that bamboo can be used as an alternative construction material. This research was conducted in the dusun Kenongosari, Turen district, Kab. Malang. This research was carried out for "Making Charcoal Briquettes from Petung Bamboo (Dendrocalamus Asper) and Apus Bamboo (Gigantochloa Apus) as Providers of Alternative Energy". Before becoming briquettes, these two types of bamboo are fabricated, from these two types of bamboo charcoal, it will be made into briquettes where each type of bamboo charcoal has three treatments with adhesive levels 5% 10% and 15%.Data in this research include water content, combustion rate, heat content, and briquette testing on the prototype of the steam engine. The results of higher water content in apus bamboo which from the test results of the burning rate is also difficult to burn apus bamboo compared to petung bamboo. This data is reinforced by the results of heat where the heat content is higher in apus bamboo than petung bamboo. Lab test results on bamboo briquettes also illustrate the results of briquette testing on the prototype of the steam engine, bamboo briquettes as a provider of alternative energy are more effective and good is petung bamboo, because petung bamboo burns faster and boils water on pan so the steam results is more quickly rotating generators and produce more radiant electricity compared to apus bamboo. The conclusion is that briquette data is better as an alternative energy provider in petung bamboo briquettes when compared to apus bamboo briquettes
