In the present study, a Dual-Source Computed Tomography (DSCT) scanner was simulated in order to examine the possibility of using it as a dosimetric tool and to create educational scenarios in Medical Physics. The aim of the system simulation, based on the Monte Carlo N-particle radiation code (MCNP), was to develop a model that approximates the actual system reliably. The simulation of a DSCT scanner could provide a powerful tool for dose assessment and support the training of clinical scientists in the imaging performance characteristics of Computed Tomography.
