Integración económica y pobreza nacional: el caso de Colombia, Chile y México (1980-2002)

This document shows how it has been the behavior of the poverty in Chile and Colombia. The objective of the study is to analyze, to compare and to determine in that magnitude the increase of the poverty, has been influenced by population, expenses, inflation and degree economic opening, in each one of these countries. In order to find the relation between the different exposed coefficients, a model of linear regression considers, in which the influence of the considered coefficient is evaluated and determined. For Chile, one is that the opening has generated increases in the poverty, which have been balances by the increases in the expensive and the diminution of the inflation. In Colombia, the opening also has generated increases in the poverty, but the internal policy, has not managed to diminish this impact.Este documento muestra cómo ha sido el comportamiento de la pobreza en Chile y Colombia. El objetivo del estudio es analizar, comparar y determinar en qué magni tud el incremento de la pobreza ha estado influenciado por: la población, el gasto, la inflación y el grado de apertura económica. Para hallar la relación entre las diferentes variables expuestas, se plantea un modelo de regresión lineal, en el cual se determi na la incidencia de las variables consideradas. Para el caso de Chile, se encuentra que, la apertura ha generado incrementos en la pobreza, los cuales han sido anulados por aumentos en el gasto y disminución de la inflación. En Colombia, la apertura, también ha generado incrementos en la pobreza, pero la política interna no ha logrado disminuir este impacto
