Scenarios in ubiquitous computing system design:User-driven usages

Scenarios are widely used in the computing system design nowadays. The scenarios can throughout the cycle support the system development process since they offer a flexible tool for different purposes in the development process. Scenarios can be used either to collect a common vision of the forthcoming system's stakeholders in a collaborative project, or they can be utilized as an instrument in human-centered design process. Scenarios are also used to present for instance a research organizations' or a company's future vision. This paper describes an example of the use of scenarios in ubiquitous computing system design. This presentation is based on experiences of some projects at VTT Information Technology and will bring up some issues to be developed and tested further in computing system's design and evaluation
