Apesar do conhecido papel positivo do Selênio (Se) no crescimento de plantas e na atenuação dos danos ocasionados por estresses abióticos, pouco parece ter sido ainda explorado acerca dos impactos fisiológicos e metabólicos de distintos níveis de Se aplicados via priming em sementes de tomate (Solanum lycopersicum L.). Propõe-se então, neste trabalho, uma pormenorizada caracterização fisiológica e metabólica em tomateiro cultivados em presença de Se ou metabolicamente induzidas via seed priming, em condições ótimas e de déficit hídrico.
