Características clínicas de pacientes paraguayos con Artritis Reumatoide establecida

Introduction: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic rheumatic disease that can affect any joint but favors the small joints of the hands most often. The pattern of presentation and progression and other clinical features are unknown in the Paraguayan population. Objetive: The aim of the study was to know the clinical and epidemiological characteristics in the Paraguayan people with RA. Methods: Retrospective,descriptive study.Patients with diagnosis of RA with a follow-up in the Hospital de Clínicas-UNA Rheumatology Department.. Clinical, epidemiological, laboratorial variables were evaluated. Results: We included 82 patients (Female 84.1%), with a mean age of 53.4±11.9 years, diconocisease duration of 9.6±9 years. The most frequent pattern of joint involvement were oligo and polyarticular. 89.7% with positive ACPA. The patients with ACPA + had onset of disease more often symmetrically (CCP + 86.3% vsACPA(-) 57.1%, p 0.08), and had more erosive disease (ACPA+ 27.2% vs ACPA- 0%, p : 0.049) than the CCP negative patients. Conclusions: Paraguayan patients with established RA are mostly female, seropositive,with an oligo / polyarticular pattern joint involvement. The ACPA positive patients have a more symmetrical erosive disease.Introducción: La Artritis Reumatoide (AR) es una enfermedad reumática crónica, puede afectar cualquier articulación, siendo las pequeñas articulaciones de las manos las más frecuentemente afectadas. Actualmente no se cuenta con datos publicados referentes a las características clínicas y la evolución de la AR en población paraguaya. Objetivo: Describir las características clínicas, epidemiológicas de pacientes paraguayos con AR. Métodos: Estudio retrospectivo, descriptivo. Fueron incluidos pacientes con diagnóstico de AR, en seguimiento en el departamento de Reumatología del Hospital de Clínicas-UNA. Se determinaron variables clínicas, epidemiológicas y laboratoriales. Resultados: Se incluyeron 82 pacientes (Mujer 84.1%), con un promedio de edad de 53.4±11.9 años, duración de enfermedad de 9.6±9 años. El patrón de afectación articular más frecuente fue oligoarticular seguido por el poliarticular. El 89.7% fue ACPA positivo. Los pacientes ACPA + tuvieron un inicio de enfermedad más frecuentemente simétrico (ACPA + 86.3% vs ACPA- 57.1%, p 0.08), además presentaron una enfermedad más erosiva (ACPA+ 27.2% vs ACPA- 0%, p 0.049). Conclusión: Los pacientes paraguayos con AR establecida son en su mayoría de sexo femenino, seropositivos, con un patrón de afectación oligo/poliarticular.
