This has contributed to make the oceans warmer and the sea surface temperature to increase, which causes more water to evaporate into the atmosphere and contribute to the intensification of tropical cyclones. Global warming can also cause sea level to rise which will further exacerbate the impact of tropical cyclone storm surges flooding in low-lying coastal zones.
