Three historiated initials from a Latin manuscript have been pasted as marginal illustrations in the Psalter section of an early fifteenth-century English Bible which is now Arundel MS. 104 in the British Library. The manuscript, to which the initials belonged originally, is unknown or lost. On the basis of stylistic and iconographic comparison with surviving manuscripts, it has been suggested that they came from an early thirteenth-century English Psalter or Bible. Another aspect of the cuttings provides more precise evidence.
