Risky lifestyle behaviours have a multiplicative impact on both the length and quality of peoples’ lives. In order to improve health outcomes and reduce social inequalities in these outcomes, behaviour change services are recommended by health care and public health professionals.There is evidence to show that engagement in more than one form of health risk behaviour is common at a population level (for example, many smokers and also engage in potential harmful levels of alcohol intake), yet currently, behaviour change interventions focus on change in a single risk behaviour (e.g. smoking cessation).
