International audienceAntimicrobial resistance is a matter of concern both in human and veterinary medicine. The aim of the study was to describe levels of resistance to quinolones in indicator Escherichia coli strains isolated from faeces of sows and pigs housed in nine herds using flumequine on sows. Based on results of disk diffusion method 114 isolates exhibiting different levels of quinolone-resistance were submitted to MIC determination for nalidixic acid, flumequine, enrofloxacine, marbofloxacine and ciprofloxacine. MIC values obtained with ciprofloxacin were significantly lower than values obtained with enrofloxacin and marbofloxacin.
