Court Contempt Involving Race, Name, and Bias

[Abstract] Within this paper, I am discussing the topic of how the incarceration of different ethnic groups is still a major factor, a major flaw, within our justice system. How has this in the courts been addressed and handled, if at all, and has it been improved? The articles in which I will explore a number of articles relating to this conversation. The main threads to this conversation in which I have are how the black community is accepted as a main, as well as a commonplace trend in incarceration, how a name alone can affect a trial’s outcome and notation in a jury, the implicit racial bias that affects the conscious and explicit beliefs about racial inequality. My mainframe of research was based in the Valparaiso library database, called Summon. With this research, I concluded that much has yet to change within the judicial branch and how our justice system handles cases with different ethnicities and how they handle these biases. These changes and recognitions of these problems will push the system for improvement and a ‘fair’ trial of court
