[Abstract] Within this paper, I am discussing the topic of how the incarceration of different ethnic groups is still a major factor, a major flaw, within our justice system. How has this in the courts been addressed and handled, if at all, and has it been improved? The articles in which I will explore a number of articles relating to this conversation. The main threads to this conversation in which I have are how the black community is accepted as a main, as well as a commonplace trend in incarceration, how a name alone can affect a trial’s outcome and notation in a jury, the implicit racial bias that affects the conscious and explicit beliefs about racial inequality.
