The major problem of this study is to describe the movement of black Americans in order to break the hegemony which is surfaced by white Americans. The objectives of the study are to analyze the structural elements of Malcolm X movie and to analyze the relation between the movie and the social background of American society in 1990s based on sociological approach. In conducting this study, the researcher uses qualitative method in which data are based on the primary data source; Malcolm X movie. While the secondary data sources are the movie script of Malcolm X and some reviews of the movie which are collected from various source and also other data which deal with the study.
