The article presents the concept of multi-factor system approach for the optimization of material consumption of electrical welding reactors based on numerical methods. It was shown that total cost components are expressed in terms of the size of welding transformers, reactors, and electromagnetic loads (current density in windings, induction into steel), that in the future will permit to find the characteristics, providing a combination of optimum design parameters of electrical equipment and their possible nominal and peak loads.
