Kinų kalbos kaip svetimosios mokymasis Kinijoje: besimokančiųjų požiūris, kalbiniai įgūdžiai ir tapatinimasis su kalba

The number of students learning Chinese as a foreign language (i.e. CFL students) has been increasing rapidly and continuously over the past decade, and yet current studies on foreign language students nearly all focus on students learning English as a foreign language (i.e. EFL students). In light of this unproportionate distribution of studies on CFL and EFL students, and the greater need for scientific-evidence based advice to facilitate the academic and personal integration process of CFL students brought forth by the rapid and continuous rise in its number, the current study has set out to gain deep insights into the relationship between the following three factors: CFL students’ (self-rated) proficiency level in the Chinese language, their attitude towards the Chinese language and their sense of belonging to the Chinese society. In total, 8 questionnaires and 8 in-depth interviews conducted with former and current CFL students have been collected and then processed and analyzed using the Thematic-Networks approach. Research findings show that there are multiple factors playing in between the connection between CFL students’ (self-rated) proficiency level and attitudes towards the Chinese Language, that between CFL students’ (self-rated) proficiency level in Chinese and their sense of belonging to the Chinese society, and the link between CFL students’ language attitude and their sense of belonging to the Chinese society. Based on these findings, pedagogical implications making the best use of the aforementioned linking factors have been put forward so that the teaching and administrative staff working in fields related to CFL teaching will have more useful information to design policies that can help to smoothen the academic and personal integration process of CFL students studying China.Kinų kalbos kaip svetimosios mokymasis Kinijoje: besimokančiųjų požiūris, kalbiniai įgūdžiai ir tapatinimasis su kalbaLituanistikos katedraHumanitarinių mokslų fakulteta
