Lo personal es político: la violencia sexual y de género como instrumento para el mantenimiento del poder del Estado en el régimen dictatorial argentino (1976-1983)

This research aims to examine the use of sexual and gender-based violence by the State during the military dictatorship in Argentina (1976-1983). In this sense, the main purpose is to analyze and explain in what ways the relationship between gender, body and violence is associated with the instrumental use of sexual and gender-based violence promoted by the State to maintain its power during the Argentine military regime. The hypothesis argues that, in this specific case, this model of violent action represents a political practice, based on gendered constructions, through which the State exercises its power through individual’s bodies. It is argued that the discourse of difference, by constructing the Other, the “internal enemy”, allowed bodies (especially the women’s ones) to be transformed into a space for political intervention and dispute, politicizing the body. Therefore, in order to prove this hypothesis, the specific bibliography will be reviewed and a quantitative analysis of official documents and reports will be made, using the theoretical-analytical framework offered by feminist theories of International Relations and gender studies.CAPES - Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível SuperiorDissertação (Mestrado)Esta pesquisa busca examinar o uso da violência sexual e de gênero por parte do Estado durante a ditadura militar na Argentina (1976-1983). Nesse sentido, o objetivo central desta investigação está em analisar e explicar de quais formas a relação entre gênero, corpo e violência associa-se ao o uso instrumental da violência sexual e de gênero fomentado pelo Estado para a manutenção do seu poder no regime ditatorial argentino. A hipótese por ora apresentada argumenta que, no caso em questão, este modelo de ação violenta configura uma prática política, com base em construções generificadas, por meio da qual o Estado exerce seu poder através dos corpos dos indivíduos. Nesse sentido, argumenta-se que o discurso de produção da diferença, da construção do Outro - o "inimigo interno" -, permitiu que o corpo físico (especialmente de mulheres) fosse transformado em espaço de intervenção e disputa política, dando forma política ao corpo. Assim sendo, com intuito de comprovar a hipótese inicial, será feita a revisão da bibliografia específica e a análise qualitativa e quantitativa de documentos e relatórios oficiais, valendo-se do arcabouço teórico-analítico oferecido pelas teorias feministas das Relações Internacionais e dos estudos de gênero
