However, despite the obvious importance of invertebrates and especially crustaceans in aquatic systems, effects and/or hazard assessment of these compounds remains difficult to establish, and no specific endocrine disruption (ED) biomarkers are available in crustacean species currently used in aquatic ecotoxicology.
