The use of agro-wastes as biosorbent materials in adsorption processes offers high efficiencies due to the chemical characteristics. The removal of Ni (II) in solution was studied using the residual pulp from the yam starch extraction process (Dioscorea rotundata), evaluating the effect of temperature, initial concentration and amount of adsorbent. The adsorption tests were carried out in batch system, at 100 mL solution volume, pH 6 and 200 rpm. The remaining concentration of Pb (II) in solution was measured by atomic absorption at 301.5 nm.
