n this article we provide information focused in the psychological impact of infertility and the treatments associated with this condition. After introducing a brief conceptualization of infertility and its psychosocial aspects, we present a review of the literature on the effect of assisted reproduction treatments over the quality of life. From the elaboration of the concept “Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQL)”, we proceed to describe the vital areas of life that could be affected during the processes of assisted reproduction.
