Mental health professionals are increasing in the United States; however, research has shown that they continue to lack the tools to deliver age-appropriate services to older adults who suffer from substance use disorders. The proposed project is a short-term training program for mental health professionals employed by Pacific Clinics. The project aims to improve their overall direct service expertise by training clinicians on evidence-based treatments that include motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, Brief Intervention and Treatment for Elders (BRITE), and Prevention BINGO.
