A mentoring program through play therapy for children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder: A grant proposal

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a growing phenomenon that affects the well-being of children and adolescents. Although prescription stimulant medication continues to be the treatment source for many parents in treating ADHD, learning through play is an innovative intervention for ADHD children with no harmful side effects. The purpose of this project was to write a grant proposal and indentify a funding source for creating a mentoring and education program specifically for families with ADHD children to increase their knowledge about ADHD and to provide strategies and alternative resources aside from medication. The identified potential funding source for the proposed program was the William T. Grant Foundation. The foundation seeks to support the improvement of young people's lives through mentoring. Actual submission and/or funding of this grant was not required for successful completion of this thesis
