Utilizing a qualitative approach, the purpose of this study was to identify the attitudes and perceptions regarding travel among African-Americans between the ages of 21 and 31. The study focuses on the motivations for travel, benefits of traveling and the perceived constraints to traveling. Through in-depth, descriptive, face-to-face interviews the study identified themes for the four research questions presented. With these themes the researcher developed a grounded theory model of travel motivations for this demographic and examined its correlation with different theories
