This project report incorporates the Bloom Taxonomy of Education with the development of a student improvisor. In the culture of Jazz pedagogy teachers often promote balancing the mind, body, and spirit. Like Bloom, The Jazz Taxonomy categorizes these three areas of learning as domains. The mind is the cognitive domain, the body is the psychomotor domain, and the spirit is the affective domain. The jazz taxonomy focuses on structuring the development of written analysis, physical practice, and the internal-external factors of motivation. The project is representative of the natural development of a student improvisor preparing for a recital performance
