Neoliberalism has become the world's most predominant political-economic paradigm. It features continual implementation of policy focused on capital creation and accumulation, within an increasing amount of states in our capitalist world, in an effort to maintain permanent economic growth of which is an impossible feat. This effort has similarly generated many deleterious externalities in our social organizations and our collective but individualized psychology. The combination of both the impossibility of permanent economic growth and those externalities that neoliberalism provides inevitably leads to authoritarian means of governance.
