Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is the dominant interface, which is used extensively for 4G LTE communication systems. Space-time parallel cancellation (STPC) is employed in conjunction with OFDM, as the scheme provides diversity and coding gain along with inter-carrier interference (ICI) mitigation. ICI may be caused by carrier frequency offset (CFO), by the Doppler spread due to channel time-variation or, to a lesser extent by, sampling frequency offsets (SFOs).
