In the present study, Argan (Argania spinosa (L.) Skeels) seedling survival over 13 months was observed for 87 families, issued from kernels of individual trees from three distinct geographical origins in south-west Morocco. Aridity, a factor that is traditionally thought to be responsible fo Argan seedling damping-off in the field, can not be incriminated in this nursery experiment, because humidity levels were maintained during the study. Seedling mortality was due to the attack of an infectious agent, Fusarium oxysporum. Kernel geographical origin did not influence the extent of the infection.
