The methodology of dendroclimatology is used to analyse the ring-width variations of six oak populations (Quercus canariensis Willd.) and one pine population (Pinus pinaster Soland) sampled following an altitudinal gradient in the northwestern part of Tunisia. The ring-width response to simple CP and/or T) or synthetic monthly climatic parameters is investigated for each of the seven populations. The results highlight the influence of altitude on the climatic response of oak.
