This publication presents the vegetation growing in the woods of the Southern Apennin mountains : the various types of forest composed of Quercus cerris and of Quercus frainetto of Melitto-Quercion, the Quercus ilex forest that grow on the heights, the Ostrya carpinifolia forest, the Pine laricio forest, the formations composed of Alnus cordata and the forest of Aquifolio Fagetum and of Asyneumati-Fagetum. Each community is situated in relation to the phytosociological unities already known and then replaced into the context of the similar groups of Balkans, the Northern Apennin and Corsica mountains.
