Tese de mestrado, Engenharia Farmacêutica, Universidade de Lisboa, Faculdade de Farmácia, 2012This work compared Fourier-transform mid- and near-infrared spectroscopy and intrinsic fluorescence spectroscopy techniques in the rapid classification of drug products contaminant microorganisms Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella enterica and Staphylococcus aureus. This work also assessed the potential use of near infrared spectroscopy to detect contamination by the referred microorganisms, using saline solutions at increasingly smaller concentration levels of bacterial cells.
