Investigation of cutting temperature is one of the most important research areas in metal cutting since it is a significant factor that affects the tool life and the quality of the machined part. It is known that cutting temperatures in continuous cutting are higher than those in interrupted cutting. Including cutting and non-cutting periods provides the cutting tool to cool down in interrupted cutting. By means of this phenomenon, turn-milling can achieve higher material removal rates with less tool wear in turning operations.
