This article presents a review of the international master programme organized by the University of Alicante (UA), the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment (MAGRAMA), through the General Secretariat of Fisheries (SGP), and the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM), through the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Zaragoza (IAMZ). The Master was initially developed in cooperation with the University of Barcelona in the period 2004-2009, and has counted on the collaboration of the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) since the beginning.
