Análise espaço-temporal da vulnerabilidade às mudanças climáticas da bacia hidrográfica do Rio Moxotó - PE, utilizando o sensoriamento remoto

Climate change generates impacts that affect natural and human systems with different results, depending on the level of vulnerability, with the Brazilian Northeast being the most vulnerable to these changes. In the semi-arid region, the rainfall regime presents spatial and temporal variability that makes the availability of water resources as river basins considered difficult to analyze, as well as their vulnerabilities and risks. For this, the remote sensing is a very important tool of analysis and manipulation of geographic data in the process of development and understanding of the studies of watersheds. Considering these aspects, the present study aimed to analyze the vulnerability to climate change of the Moxotó River basin - PE by means of the application of remote sensing in the period from 2009 to 2015. In this study, images of LANDSAT 5 and 8 satellites and digital processing techniques in SPRING software, as well as census data obtained from government agencies, seeking to obtain spatial information on the vegetation cover, water and exposed soil of the Moxotó River basin correlated with the climatic changes. The spatial analysis of the Moxotó River basin in the satellite images of the year 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015 was carried out together with the census data. These images were georeferenced and, through digital processing techniques applied in the spatial analysis of the images, it was possible to identify areas vulnerable to climate change. It was also possible to observe that one of the factors responsible for the susceptibility of the area to the vulnerability was the semiaridity of the region, since there is irregularity in the annual rainfall distribution, with a decrease in rainfall index, high temperatures and high evapotranspiration rates, maintaining the water deficit. The water present in the satellite images as a class measure presented a decrease of area in hectare, a decrease that is a reflection of the decrease of rainfall data and the volume of the reservoirs during the studied years. In spite of variations in the data of the studied years, due to the different months of the satellites images, the exposed soil is more predominant than the vegetation cover, reflecting the reduction in the rainfall index of the region. It is reiterated that besides the Moxotó River basin it is very vulnerable because it is located in a semi-arid region of the Caatinga that has long periods of drought (drought), man action also influences with farms, agropastoral activities and deforestation of the vegetation cover. That is why the need for studies in these areas is so important and strategic for this region.As mudanças climáticas geram impactos que atingem os sistemas naturais e humanos com resultados diferentes, dependendo do nível de vulnerabilidade, sendo o Nordeste brasileiro a região mais vulnerável a essas mudanças. No semiárido, o regime de chuvas apresenta variabilidade espacial e temporal que faz com que a disponibilidade dos recursos hídricos como bacias hidrográficas sejam considerados difíceis de analisar, quanto as suas vulnerabilidades e riscos. Para isso, o sensoriamento remoto é uma ferramenta muito importante de análise e manipulação de dados geográficos no processo de desenvolvimento e compreensão dos estudos de bacias hidrográficas. Considerando estes aspectos, o presente estudo teve como objetivo analisar a vulnerabilidade às mudanças climáticas da bacia hidrográfica do Rio Moxotó – PE por meio da aplicação do sensoriamento remoto no período de 2009 a 2015. Neste estudo, foram utilizadas imagens de satélites LANDSAT 5 e 8 e técnicas de processamento digital no software SPRING, além de dados censitários obtidos em órgãos governamentais, buscando obter informações espaciais sobre a cobertura vegetal, água e solo exposto da bacia do Rio Moxotó correlacionadas com as mudanças climáticas. Foi feita a análise espacial da bacia hidrográfica do Rio Moxotó nas imagens de satélites do ano de 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014 e 2015 juntamente com os dados censitários. Estas imagens foram georreferenciadas e, por meio de técnicas de processamento digital aplicada na análise espacial das imagens foi possível identificar as áreas vulneráveis às mudanças climáticas. Também foi possível observar que um dos fatores responsáveis pela suscetibilidade da área à vulnerabilidade foi a semiaridez da região, pois há irregularidade na distribuição anual das chuvas, com diminuição no índice de precipitação pluviométrica, elevadas temperaturas e altas taxas de evapotranspiração, mantendo o déficit hídrico. A água presente nas imagens de satélite como medida de classe apresentou uma diminuição de área em hectare, diminuição esta que é reflexo da diminuição dos dados de precipitação pluviométrica e no volume dos reservatórios no decorrer dos anos estudados. Apesar de apresentarem variações nos dados dos anos estudados, devido aos diferentes meses das imagens de satélites trabalhadas, o solo exposto é mais predominante que a cobertura vegetal, reflexo da redução no índice de chuva da região. Reitera-se que além da bacia do Rio Moxotó ser bastante vulnerável por estar localizada numa região semiárida de Caatinga que tem longos períodos de estiagem (seca), a ação do homem também influencia com explorações agrícolas, atividades agropastoris e desmatamento da cobertura vegetal. Por isso a necessidade de estudos nestes âmbitos é tão importante e estratégico para esta região
