At LAl, a micro bearingless motor system is being developed, in collaboration with a Swiss company. For proper commissioning, the radial position of the rotor must be continually measured and corrected, so that the rotor can ultimately spin with no contact. Still, the magnetic fields of the rotor contain not only information of its radial position, but also of its axialdisplacement and tilting. A mathematical model has been developed, and a position measurement PCB has been constructed, aiming to verifli this model.
