Presentation given at the XXXVIII Annual Meeting of the Willi Hennig Society, in University of California, Berkeley (US), on May 26th-31st, 2019.Aquatic beetles can be characterized based on the habitats where they live, with a main division between species living in standing water or species living in running waters. Both habitat types present differences based on their physical and chemical characteristics, leading to different ecological dynamics at geological scale, in essentially long-term habitat stability.
