'Kabe' means to wave and Cua Kabe waved his hands and Buginese ships came to a standstill at sea or were drawn to the shore where they were plundered, and the crew killed. Bangu also tells of Cua's ancestors and a descendant who also had paranormal abilities. The descendants of a Bugis victim, a woman, still live on the island.
