This item includes a segment of a student interview in a Writing Intensive course in Management at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. The interview was conducted in 2014, and in this clip the interviewee is responding to the question 'What elements of your writing performances would you identify as strong or successful, and why? What defines success for you? What do you think determines success for this instructor?'Brief excerpt from interview: Particularly for business writing, since this is a business class, a lot of it is trying to get our ideas as compact as possible . . . without being too wordy, and Dr. Bhawuk really stressed that in the writings . . . I turned in . . . two or three assignments over again . . . after he corrected it I turned it in again for another grade . . . he would give me pointers on the paper, parts where I could have said this shorter . . . or where I was redundant . . .
