The primary phytochemical and in vitro antioxidant studies were performed on methanol, chloroform, petroleum ether and aqueous leaf extracts of Toddalia asiatica. The antioxidant activity of methanolic leaf extract was determined by DPPH free radical scavenging assay. Ascorbic acid was used as standard. Evaluation showed high phenol content and methanolic extract exhibited significant antioxidant activity. The DPPH radical scavenging activity of the extract was increased with the increasing concentration. The highest radical scavenging effect was observed with IC50 = 36μg/ml.
